MARTA BONACCINI
Terræaltrove, italian experience
Marta Bonaccini, born in San Giovanni Valdarno, spent her childhood and youth in Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni, main town of The Bacino Lignitifero Valdarnese. She currently lives in Florence. Following her career as a teacher in elementary school, she participates in the research of the historical, cultural and anthropological patrimony of her homeland, protagonist of unusual and dramatic events.
She publishes:
Profumo di Lignite (1995)
La Valle delle Miniere (2015)
At the same time she has begun the exploration of new and different human and environmental realities, ranging especially on the High Valley of the river Marecchia, municipality of Badia Tedalda. In these places of compelling identity, she collaborates with the local Pro Loco for the development of the area. From the meeting with the last witnesses she receives a wealth of traditional stories, handed down from generation to generation, and the narrative of the agro-pastoral culture of which we are losing track permanently.
She publishes:
Mons. Ermenegildo Ricci o.f.m. Martire della Fede (2007)
At this present time, globalization and extreme rapidity of change, the desire to recover and preserve the uniformity or total eclipse of territorial identity, brings Marta to reach the mouth of the Marecchia, where an ancient fishing village still has life stories to tell. The exploration continues…
