LA NOVELLA DEL TARTUFO DELL’ALPE DELLA LUNA-01From white to black, the Bianchetto variety to the Scorzone, the Brumale to the Uncinato and Mesenterico varieties, almost every region in Italy features some type of this prestigious product ready to be savoured on tables across the world.

The border between the northern and central Apennine Mountains, between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna and Umbria and Marche is one of the best regions for the harvesting of truffles in all of Italy. In this mountainous region home to some of Italy’s most beautiful peaks such as the Alpe della Luna, Monte nerone and the Catria, you may find some of the most famous varieties of truffle around. This especially true for towns such as Acqualagna, Sant’Agata Feltria, and Città di Castello which are important commercial hubs for the Italian white truffle. Other lesser known towns home to the truffle include Badia Tedalda, S. Angelo in Vado, Sassocorvaro, Sestino, Cagli, Fossombrone and Pietralunga.

With its estuaries that branch off the starting point of the Tiber river, including the Marecchia, Foglia and Metauro rivers, for Terrealtrove, the Alpe della Luna massif is by far the truffle capital par excellence.
